Avenged Sevenfold returns with a new single after a break, where they release completely fresh material.



The track "Nobody" probably heralds the long-awaited, solid and polished album that is coming, and it is a good announcement.

A very unusual composition, from the beginning led by a tedious riff, and after a while the entrance of M.Shadows with vocals like a call from the great mountains, somewhere on the edge of reality. The text begins with words that give the image of ourselves flying like feathers in space, not knowing where we are going and what we really encounter every day. Throughout the song, the author guides us with metaphors practically in this "rhythm", where Brooks' drums and Johnny's bass provide the rhythm and background for Zack's guitar, who leads the line brilliantly. Breaking through the entire composition with the solo, Synyster (with his perfectionism in the virtuosity he serves us) crowns "Nobody" in a masterly way.



At this stage, it's worth finishing today's argument about this single and leaving more interpretations, feelings and describing the energy that will pierce the ears of everyone who hears the whole album of the boys from California, I think in a short time :]

Bardzo nietypowa kompozycja, od początku prowadzona przez żmudny riff, a po chwili wejście M.Shadows z wokalem niczym zew z wielkich gór, gdzieś na skraju rzeczywistości. Tekst zaczyna się od słów, które dają obraz nas samych latających jak piórka w kosmosie, nie wiedząc dokąd zmierzamy i co tak naprawdę spotykamy się każdego dnia. Przez cały utwór autor prowadzi nas metaforami praktycznie w tym “rytmie”, gdzie perkusja Brooksa i bas Johnnego zapewniają rytm i tło dla gitary Zacka, który genialnie prowadzi linię. Przedzierając się z solówką przez całą kompozycję Synyster (swoim perfekcjonizmem w wirtuozerii jaką nam serwuje) koronuje “Nobody” w mistrzowski sposób.



Na tym etapie warto zakończyć dzisiejszy wywód na temat tego singla i zostawić więcej interpretacji, odczuć i opisać energię, która przeszyje uszy każdego, kto usłyszy cały album chłopaków z Kalifornii myślę, że w niedługim czasie :]

Depeche Mode "Memento Mori"

"Memento Mori".. the latest album, long-awaited by fans around the world - of course fans of the Depeche Mode band, which returns to the stage after six years, as always with a "supernova strike" and a powerful sound that comes from this album.

As the members of the band themselves say in the latest interviews - they did not know whether the next album would be released, but they did. Unfortunately, sad times also reached the two musicians, as the third member of the DM team (Andy Fletcher) died just before the recording session for this album began.



"My Own Cosmos" opens the album and at the beginning lets the listener into an interesting world, because Dave (vocalist) raises an important issue - our own vision of reality, which we should take care of, but not being selfish and emotionless beings, but aware of our value, taking care of our own interior . This is a certain warning for everyone who wants to violate this very important space for us through their wrong intentions.

"Wagging Tongue" mirrors the behavior of many people in everyday life. The main message is, I think, emphasizing the importance of seeing the real face of our existence in the light of appreciating what we really have. We treat each other with hatred in many ways, until we lose something, especially someone important in life - then our eyes are opened.

The third song "Ghosts Again" promoting the album is an interesting approach of the author to human existence and its passing. We become the title ghosts despite everything, despite the turn of fate, whatever we would like to change, time verifies us and continues its cycle, which is unstoppable. A very likely tribute to the recently deceased Fletch.

"Don't Say You Love Me" is a deep musical poem that Dave Gahan melodiously presents to us in this track. The leitmotif is emphasized in many almost anti-thesis phrases that are intertwined in the verses. The message is based on the experience of love from a loved one, but it seems that it is somewhat poisoned love, because the title words "Don't say you love me" are clearly emphasized in the refrain, followed by the phrase "Cause you'll never love me".

“My Favorite Stranger” introduces the mood of duality at the beginning, from the first words of the song and the sounds of synthesizers you can feel the power of the message. It seems that the song is going to show some character (ourselves) being under surveillance or spied on or invaded by another character and the fear of this reaches a naturally high level.. However, the conclusion after listening for a long time comes after a plot twist (I don't quite think what the listener expected ) when it turns out that it is a character, but in ourselves …

“Soul With Me” is a composition vocally presented by Martin Gore. A very interesting and beautiful piece of music with a message that really makes you feel free in many ways. The subject of the soul is discussed here, supposedly escaping from mundane problems "to heaven", as high as possible, saving itself and experiencing beauty and goodness. Personally, I think it's another piece that strongly emphasizes the memory of the third pillar of DM (Andy).

"Caroline's Monkey" is a journey funded by the author, which introduces a lot of confusion into the feelings and gives the listener a lot to think about. The song is very much about how, torn by emotions, listening to the wrong inner voice without hope and faith, we look at the stars without finding solace in deeds. The words of the chorus say a lot, which the listener has to approach very personally.

“Before We Drown” is probably about people who have known each other for a very long time, being close to each other (or getting back together after some time) and have grown far apart. The call of the vocalist - we must move forward before we "drown" in the error of perceiving ourselves, not in these "colors" - as always very eloquent …

The song "People Are Good" is a surprise, but still in the mood of the work of gentlemen from England. Very clearly and strongly from the beginning is emphasized the importance of mindfulness and how glorifying the wrong people can illusory affect us. We trust a little conformistically that we are all good by nature ... and usually it is, but unfortunately not all of us want good for each other ... Sometimes we deceive ourselves, opening our eyes only when people turn out to be not who they were before. A very open and insightful piece that certainly gives a different perspective on reality.

“Always You” takes us in a slightly opposite direction than the previous “note” of the whole album. Dave sings from the beginning about this unearthly and beautiful feeling where one person selflessly loves another and they are unbreakable pillars for each other. It will always lift no matter how hard it is, even through the prism of light emanating in the spectrum of love.. the chorus literally says "It's always you..." (when things don't go as they should). The author asks himself questions about these darker aspects and injustices in our existence ... and always builds himself up at the end, because ... "There is always you" - the other, so important loving person …

"Never Let Me Go" is a manifesto of the author's desire that haunts him, but at the same time a cry not to let go - something beautiful that can be achieved even from "dreams alone". The death of feelings, to which we lead every day, destroys the nature of life, and thus we fall into some strange and incomprehensible world, becoming soulless automatons ... forgetting something that we have always loved and something that gave us good …

The closing song "Speak To Me" can be interpreted in several ways, but from the beginning the lyrics are unambiguous and speak of a person in need. It is not entirely clear whether this is a character in an existential trap and needs the aforementioned "plan" to follow the next life, or whether it is each of us, dying and needing guidance for a further journey, but not in this life .. and here I leave a field for everyone to interpret.



To sum up, a very successful come-back of the British with another, already 15th studio album from the beginning - over 4o years - of existence. One of the bands that left a creative and positive mark on many (including me), and with their solid and consistent work over the years, only shows how valuable they were, are and will be for music.

I recommend the album, of course, and you, dear reader and listener ... enjoy life and "Memento Mori" - remember about death, because it is inevitable ... ;)

"Memento Mori".. najnowszy album, długo wyczekiwany przez fanów na całym świecie - oczywiście fanów zespołu Depeche Mode, który po sześciu latach wraca na scenę, jak zawsze z "uderzeniem supernowej" i potężnym brzmieniem, które płynie z tegoż albumu.

Jak sami członkowie zespołu mówią w najnowszych wywiadach - nie wiedzieli sami czy dojdzie do wydania kolejnego albumu, a jednak udało się. Niestety, smutny czas także dosięgnął dwójkę muzyków, gdyż trzeci z ekipy DM (Andy Fletcher) zmarł tuż przed zaczęciem sesji nagrywania tego albumu.



"My Own Cosmos" otwiera płytę i na wstępie wpuszcza słuchacza w ciekawy świat, ponieważ Dave (wokalista) porusza ważną kwestię - własnej wizji rzeczywistości, o którą powinniśmy dbać, ale nie będąc samolubnymi i bezuczuciowymi istotami lecz świadomymi swej wartości, dbającymi o własne wnętrze. Jest to pewne ostrzeżenie dla wszystkich, którzy chcą poprzez swoje niewłaściwe intencje, naruszyć tą jakże ważną dla nas przestrzeń.

"Wagging Tongue" jest lustrzanym odbiciem zachowań wielu ludzi w życiu codziennym. Głównym przesłaniem jest myślę podkreślenie wagi dostrzegania rzeczywistej odsłony naszej egzystencji w świetle doceniania tego co tak naprawdę mamy. Traktujemy się w wielu kwestiach wręcz nienawistnie, dopóki nie stracimy czegoś, a w szczególności kogoś ważnego w życiu - wtedy dopiero otwierają nam się oczy.

Trzeci utwór “Ghosts Again” promujący płytę, jest ciekawym podejściem autora do ludzkiej egzystencji i jej przemijania. Stajemy się tytułowymi duchami mimo wszystko, mimo kolei losu, cokolwiek byśmy chcieli zmienić, czas nas weryfikuje i kontynuuje swój cykl, który jest nie do zatrzymania. Bardzo prawdopodobny hołd oddany niedawno zmarłemu Fletchowi.

“Don’t Say You Love Me” jest głębokim muzycznym poematem, który Dave Gahan melodyjnie nam prezentuje w tym utworze. Temat przewodni jest uwypuklony w wielu wręcz anty tezyjnych frazach jakie przeplatają się w zwrotkach, który bazuje na doświadczeniu miłości od drugiej osoby, ale wydaje się, że poniekąd zatrutej, bo w refrenie jest wyraźnie podkreślone tytułowe “Don’t say you love me”, kontynuowane frazą “Cause you’ll never love me”. “Soul With Me” to kompozycja wokalnie zaprezentowana przez Martina Gore’a. Bardzo ciekawy i piękny kawałek muzyki z przekazem, dzięki któremu naprawdę można poczuć się uwalniająco w wielu kwestiach. Jest tutaj poruszana tematyka duszy jakoby uciekającej od problemów przyziemnych “do nieba” , jak najwyżej, ratując się i doświadczając piękna i dobra. Osobiście myślę, że to kolejny kawałek mocno akcentujący pamięć trzeciego filaru DM (Andyego).

“Caroline’s Monkey” to podróż ufundowana przez autora, która wprowadza dużo zamieszania w uczucia i daje mocno do myślenia słuchaczowi. Utwór traktuje bardzo o tym jak targani emocjami, słuchając niewłaściwego głosu wewnętrznego bez nadziei i wiary spoglądamy w gwiazdy nie osiągając ukojenia w czynach. Interpretacja bardzo osobista.. dużo mówią słowa refrenu, do których słuchacz musi podejść bardzo osobiście.

“Before We Drown” opowiada prawdopodobnie o osobach, które znają się bardzo długo, będąc z sobą blisko (albo wracając do siebie po jakimś czasie) i znacznie oddaliły się od siebie. Nawoływanie wokalisty - musimy iść do przodu nim “utoniemy” w błędzie postrzegania siebie, nie w tych ‘kolorach’ - jak zawsze jest bardzo wymowne …

Piosenka “People Are Good” jest pewną niespodzianką, ale nadal w nastroju twórczości panów z pochodzących z Anglii. Bardzo wyraźnie i zdecydowanie od początku jest podkreślone znaczenie uważności i jak gloryfikowanie niewłaściwych ludzi może iluzorycznie na nas wpłynąć. Ufamy trochę konformistycznie, że wszyscy jesteśmy z natury dobrzy..i z reguły tak jest, ale niestety nie wszyscy chcemy dobrze dla siebie nawzajem ... Oszukujemy czasami sami siebie, otwierając oczy dopiero, gdy ludzie okazują się nie tymi, którymi byli wcześniej. Bardzo otwarty i wnikliwy utwór dający na pewno inne spojrzenie na rzeczywistość.

“Always You” zabiera nas w trochę przeciwnym kierunku niż poprzednia “nuta” całej płyty. Dave, śpiewa od początku o tym nieziemskim i pięknym uczuciu, gdzie jedna osoba bezinteresownie kocha drugą i są dla siebie filarami nie do zburzenia. Zawsze podniesie nieważne jak ciężko by było, nawet przez sam pryzmat emanującego światła w spektrum miłości.. refren mówi o tym dosłownie, że “Zawsze jesteś Ty..” (kiedy wszystko nie układa się tak jak powinno). Autor zadaje sobie pytania o te ciemniejsze aspekty i niesprawiedliwości w naszej egzystencji.. i zawsze na koniec podbudowuje się, bo.. “Zawsze jesteś Ty” - ta druga, tak ważna kochająca osoba …

“Never Let Me Go” jest manifestem pragnienia autora, które go prześladuje, ale jednocześnie wołaniem, żeby uczucia nie odpuścić - czegoś pięknego co może być osiągnięte nawet z "samych snów". Śmierć uczuć, do której codziennie doprowadzamy, burzy naturę życia, a przez to wpadamy w jakiś dziwny i niezrozumiały dla nas świat, stając się bezdusznymi automatami..zapominając coś, co zawsze kochaliśmy i coś co dawało nam dobro …

Zamykający album utwór “Speak To Me” można interpretować na kilka sposobów, jednak od początku tekst jest jednoznaczny i mówi o osobie w potrzebie. Nie wiadomo do końca czy to jest postać w potrzasku egzystencjalnym i potrzebuje wspomnianego “planu”, żeby podążyć dalszym życiem, czy jest to każdy z nas, umierający i potrzebujący wskazówek na dalszą podróż, ale już nie w tym życiu .. i tutaj zostawiam pole, do interpretacji dla każdego.



Podsumowując, bardzo udany come-back brytyjczyków z kolejnym, już 15-stym studyjnym albumem od początku - ponad 4o-sto letniego - istnienia. Jeden z zespołów, który na wielu (w tym na mnie) odcisnął kreatywne i pozytywne piętno, a swoją solidną i konsekwentną pracą przez lata, tylko pokazują jak wartościowi dla muzyki byli, są i będą.

Polecam album oczywiście, a Ty drogi czytelniku i słuchaczu.. ciesz się życiem i “Memento Mori” - pamiętaj o śmierci, bo jest nieunikniona … ;)

Steve Aoki & Soundgarden

Today a bit of change, because I’m gonna review Steve Aoki’s single, well actually a remix song, but with co-operation with remaining members of Soundgarden.. the great piece of sounds and words, immortal - “Spoonman”.



For all of you who don't know Steve or Soundgarden.

Let me start from one of the greatest bands from the “grunge era”, Soundgarden. They started in ‘9o, along with bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains and many, many more and created a unique sound of their music. Heavy like tank riffs by guitarist Kim Thayil and powerful, rhythmic bass by Ben Shepherd, always supported by (with precision of a doctor’s scalpel in his hands) Matt Cameron on drums crowned with magical lyrics and persuasive Chris Cornell on the mic. Too much to write about them but in short, really short way, they had an enormous impact on music overall, they pushed so many boundaries and inspired many artists, not only in, so-called “rock world”.

Steve Aoki, a half Japanese half american dude, also born in this country, was growing up on music like Soundgarden, the whole hardcore scene, punk, and later post-punk artists. Like he said - all of them had an impact on him, and shaped the way that he was trying to find for himself in music. For many reasons he kind of started to go in the direction of a more electronic path of expressing his way of creation. One of the biggest reasons was to give people more fun, happiness and joy and to evolve all the time - as it’s clearly hearable in his music. Again, very briefly.. much more can be said about him …



So, the song! I think it’s a fantastic approach and in the same time effort of blending two genres of music, and like many people could think - impossible to blend - but for the person who values evolution in everything - like of course Steve and also myself - will hear the sense in the whole mixed song. The track begins with this delicate wave of sound which predicts Chris Cornell’s words which are slowly filling the space with mainly the meaning - of perceiving the rhythm in your own way. More synthesizers start to fill the room in the song and slowly build up the intensity ..and boom! guitars mixed with heavy synths and bass are coming like a thunderstorm but in a very balanced way. Overall, just listen and feel the energy from both genres.. beautiful tribute to a great band made by Aoki and great cooperation like I said in the beginning between him and Soundgarden which result is this mix.

Dla wszystkich, którzy nie znają Steve'a ani Soundgarden.

Zacznę od jednego z najwybitniejszych zespołów „ery grunge”, czyli Soundgarden. Zaczynali w '90 razem z takimi zespołami jak Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains i wieloma, wieloma innymi i stworzyli niepowtarzalne brzmienie swojej muzyki. Ciężkie jak czołg riffy gitarzysty Kima Thayila i potężny, rytmiczny bas Bena Shepherda, zawsze wspierany przez (z precyzją lekarza w dłoniach) Matta Camerona na perkusji, zwieńczony magicznymi tekstami i perswazyjnym Chrisem Cornellem za mikrofonem. Za dużo by o nich pisać, ale w skrócie..bardzo dużym skrócie, wywarli ogromny wpływ na całą muzykę, przekroczyli wiele granic i zainspirowali wielu artystów, nie tylko w tak zwanym „rockowym świecie”.

Steve Aoki, pół Japończyk pół Amerykanin, również urodzony w tym kraju, dorastał na muzyce takiej jak Soundgarden, całej scenie hardcore, punk, później post-punkowych artystach. Jak sam powiedział - wszyscy mieli na niego wpływ i ukształtowali drogę, którą szukał dla siebie w muzyce. Z wielu powodów niejako zaczął podążać w kierunku bardziej elektronicznej ścieżki wyrażania swojego sposobu tworzenia. Jednym z głównych powodów było dawanie ludziom więcej zabawy, szczęścia i radości oraz ciągły rozwój - co wyraźnie słychać w jego muzyce. Znowu bardzo krótko.. dużo więcej można o nim powiedzieć …



A więc piosenka! Myślę, że to fantastyczne podejście i jednocześnie próba połączenia dwóch gatunków muzycznych i jak wielu mogłoby pomyśleć - niemożliwe do połączenia - ale dla osoby, która ceni ewolucję we wszystkim - jak oczywiście Steve i ja również - usłyszy sens w całym zmiksowanym utworze. Piosenka rozpoczyna się tą delikatną falą dźwiękową, która zapowiada słowa Chrisa Cornella, które powoli wypełniają przestrzeń przede wszystkim znaczeniem – postrzegania rytmu na swój własny sposób. Więcej syntezatorów zaczyna wypełniać “pokój” w piosence i powoli zwiększa intensywność… i bum! gitary zmieszane z ciężkimi syntezatorami i basem nadchodzą jak burza, ale w bardzo zrównoważony sposób. Ogólnie po prostu posłuchajcie i poczujcie energię obu gatunków... piękny hołd dla wspaniałego zespołu złożony przez Aokiego i wspaniała współpraca, jak powiedziałem na początku, pomiędzy nim a Soundgarden, której efektem jest ta piosenka.



Wierzę, że ten utwór ci się podobał, mój drogi czytelniku, i.. do usłyszenia już wkrótce z moją kolejną recenzją - aby poczuć muzykę, odkrywać ją i być w jej wnętrzu, zmysłami w umyśle i ciele 😎 … Pokój!

Red Hot Chili Peppers "Return of the Dream Canteen"

Another album, a beautiful album by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, second this year! following John Frusciante's return to the band after being replaced by another brilliant guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer. "Return of the Dream Canteen" is a very interesting return of these guys to the common energy that they have emanated in the past on every album released together.



Already the first song "Tippa My Tongue" heralds a journey into the unknown, as both Kiedis with their lyrics and John, Flea and Chad with their instrumental cocktail always took the listener from this world, even for a second, even for a moment - to break away, breathe ... And you can hear in this song the author's call to leave the frames of reality, at least for a moment, and be human, because the course of life gives us a real look at who we are by nature (?) ... a reference to LSD landing on the tongue and a character who leaves, and the state after her kiss says it all, is a beautiful metaphor for letting go.

“Peace and Love” softens the flow of the album for a moment and introduces a mood of calm from the first sounds of bass and drums. Free for interpretation as usual with RHCP, in which boys from California paint art.. you can hear in Kiedis's words this longing for meetings, from the beginning there is talk of a journey where a person who has only love and peace is waiting, and the same is offered by the author .. screaming with emotions, asking some stranger to wait, and haste - a small personal digression - is the plague of our times.

The next one "Reach Out" is very poetic, in my opinion it can be received in many ways. One of the ways is a reference to human stupidity "Drop another snake bomb.." begins the whole stream of sounds from the entrance of the song ...

“Eddie” .. there is not much to tell and interpret, just listen. A brilliant ode to the recently deceased Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen guitarist - for the record - and one of the greats of the instrument). You can say for sure about John's guitar in this track, his final solo is just proof of his oneness with the guitar physically and spiritually, just enjoy.

The song "Fake as Fu@k" introduces the listener from the beginning into a rather gray world, not optimistic, and overwhelm can cause a person to be influenced by the fake outside world that gets to us every day through television, negative news and does not want to leave our home . The chorus, however, turns the whole song upside down and calls for optimism and thinking about this whole fake world in a positive way.

"Bella", brilliant, amazing, completely pictureable in its own way, but ... a beautiful reference in the first verse to the song "Funky Crime" from the album "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" from 1987. An ode to a woman in which the author even asks her to be with him, somewhere in the wild prairies, not in the magical yet crowded city of LA.

“Roulette” is an interesting image and memory of both leaving ‘school times’ and wading through life, and in the meantime, connecting with some familiar soul and finding yourself in the process, being with yourself. A very imaginative cluster of sounds generated by Peppers.

Reflection and slowing down in favor of our lives can be felt from the first sounds in the next "My Cigarette". Just sit back, listen and reflect...

Some songs are just the way they are and the interpretation is reflective, such is the case with "Afterlife", where you can hear the author's optimism in the chorus that there is no one who knows what will happen, so there is no point in worrying.

“Shoot Me a Smile” brilliantly describes the feelings of two people.. everyday activities that build us allow us to evolve, and life energy itself emanates in every possible way. The title Shoot Me a Smile - shoot me with a smile and I will always answer you with love ... the crowning of all the beautiful effort of everyday life.

“Handful” is a bit of an antithesis heard in the chorus when the author talks about a handful of love when he gets older (reconciliation), but still believes that being with that one person until the last days, a hug, is important (faith in love).

"The Drummer" is again a frivolous song of life in my opinion, a bit like the opening Tippa My Tongue. The drummer is this metaphorical figure who, without much importance or concern, hits the percussion elements, giving the rhythm where everything is alive and pouring optimism for better days.

And there's a darker track on the album called "Bag Of Grins". A brilliant metaphor for the coroner with a bag of grins opens up an almost limitless field of interpretation of the whole song. Again, there are many ways to understand the message, but it is definitely a reference to our morality, how unimportant everything will be at the moment of our death, and sometimes we blindly strive for all this, forgetting about this fact. Personally, my number one on this album so far.

Emotional "La La La La La La La La" that put me down with its sincerity and truthfulness. The longing and desire to be with the most beloved person who understands and remembers the simplicity of shared moments, such as the trivial "Tell me how it feels to buy meals for two...", a diamond on this album.

"Copperbelly" personally I think is a great metaphor for that proverbial snake that lurks everywhere in our lives, and to keep it from getting in and disturbing our balance, our thoughts and emotions... not to let it sleep in our proverbial bed. A beautiful, yet another deep track with Frusciante's unearthly a-melodic solo that shifts the biological clock and perception but at the same time regulates it, thus giving food for thought.

"Carry Me Home" is a story, quite abstract, but about all of us, how we lose our footing and get stuck in something we don't really want to be in. Kiedis sings at one point, "Kick that door you don't understand.. ..brilliantly continuing its story, John's heart-rending solo and Flea's throbbing bass on every track fueled by Chad's tireless and as always incredibly precise yet imaginative percussion.

And the last one on this disc, starting like a fairy tale and entering the land of peace and duration, "In The Snow" is a very interesting call of the author to the only woman who has not yet appeared in his life despite many years and despite trying the flavors many times in love. Is there (???) .. it just goes on and the love lab continues to evolve to get new results...



.. a brilliant album, as always hard work by one of my musical role models over the years. I don't want to write much more about this album, because I think it's a masterpiece, especially nowadays, where plastic, unfortunately, is trying to dominate the world and I think this album will reach its full value in a few years...

Beautiful work gentlemen.. keep playing for us as long as possible! I think every fan will agree with me here ;)] I recommend ... listen ... interpret in your own way ... absorb beautiful energy and build strength and optimism inside yourself ...

Kolejny album, piękny album The Red Hot Chili Peppers, drugi w tym roku! po powrocie John’a Frusciante do zespołu po wcześniejszym zastąpieniu go przez innego genialnego gitarzystę Josh’a Klinghoffer’a.

“Return of the Dream Canteen” jest bardzo ciekawym powrotem tych chłopaków do wspólnej energii jaką emanowali w przeszłości na każdym albumie wydanym razem.



Już pierwszy utwór “Tippa My Tongue” zwiastuje podróż w nieznane, jak to zarówno Kiedis swoimi tekstami i John, Flea oraz Chad koktajlem instrumentalnym zabierali zawsze słuchacza z tego świata, choćby na sekundę, choćby na moment - oderwać się, odetchnąć … I można usłyszeć w tym utworze nawoływanie autora do wyjścia z ramek rzeczywistości chociaż na chwilę i bycia człowiekiem, bo ciąg życia mydli nam prawdziwe spojrzenie kim z natury jesteśmy (?) ..nawiązanie do lądującego LSD na języku i postaci, która odchodzi, a stan po jej pocałunku mówi wszystko, jest piękną metaforą do odpuszczenia.

“Peace and Love” zmiękcza jakby na chwilę flow płyty i wprowadza nastrój spokoju od pierwszych dźwięków basu i perkusji. Wolny jak zwykle u RHCP do interpretacji utwór, w którym chłopcy z Kalifornii malują sztukę.. słychać w słowach Kiedisa tą tęsknotę za spotkaniami, od początku jest mowa o podróży, gdzie czeka osoba, która ma tylko miłość i spokój, a to samo oferuje autor.. krzyczenie emocjami wręcz, żeby jakaś nieznajoma zaczekała, a pośpiech - mała dygresja już osobista - jest plagą naszych czasów.

Następny “Reach Out” jest bardzo poetycki, moim zdaniem można go odbierać na wiele sposobów. Jedna z dróg to odniesienie do głupoty ludzkiej “Drop another snake bomb..” zaczyna cały potok dźwięków od wejścia utworu …

“Eddie” .. dużo nie ma co opowiadać i interpretować, a po prostu słuchać. Genialna oda do niedawno zmarłego Eddiego Van Halena (gitarzysta Van Halen - dla przypomnienia - i jeden z wielkich tego instrumentu). Można w tym utworze powiedzieć na pewno o gitarze Johna, jego końcowe solo jest tylko dowodem na jego jedność z gitarą fizycznie i spirytualnie, tylko delektować się.

Piosenka “Fake as Fu@k” wprowadza słuchacza od początku w świat raczej szary, nie napawający optymizmem, a przytłoczenie może spowodować w człowieku wpływ nieprawdziwego świata zewnętrznego, który dostaje się każdego dnia do nas przez telewizję, negatywne wiadomości i nie chce opuścić naszego domu. Refren jednak obraca cały utwór do góry nogami wręcz i nawołuje do optymizmu i myślenia o tym całym udawanym właśnie świecie w pozytywny sposób.

“Bella”, genialny, niesamowity, całkowicie do zobrazowania na swój sposób, ale.. piękne nawiązanie w pierwszej zwrotce do kawałka “Funky Crime” z płyty “The Uplift Mofo Party Plan” z 1987 roku. Oda do kobiety, w której autor wręcz prosi, żeby była z nim, gdzieś na dzikich preriach, a nie w magicznym jednak zatłoczonym mieście jakim jest LA.

“Roulette” jest ciekawym obrazem i wspomnieniem zarówno wyjścia ze szkolnych czasów i brnięcia przez życie, a w międzyczasie to połączenie z jakąś znajomą duszą i odnalezienie się w trakcie, bycie ze sobą. Bardzo wolne do użycia wyobraźni skupisko dźwięków wygenerowane przez Papryczki.

Refleksja i zwolnienie na korzyść naszego życia, to można wyczuć od pierwszych dźwięków w następnym “My Cigarette”. Po prostu, usiądź, słuchaj i reflektuj …

Niektóre piosenki są po prostu takie jakie są i interpretacja jest na zasadzie refleksji, tak jest z “Afterlife”, gdzie słychać optymizm autora w refrenie o tym, że tam jest wiadome co będzie, więc przejmowanie się, nie ma racji bytu.

“Shoot Me a Smile” genialnie opisuje uczucia dwóch osób.. codzienne czynności, które nas budują, pozwalają nam ewoluować, a energia życiowa sama emanuje na każdy możliwy sposób. Tytułowe Shoot Me a Smile - ustrzel mnie uśmiechem, a ja odpowiem ci zawsze miłością ..ukoronowanie całego pięknego wysiłku codzienności.

“Handful” to trochę antyteza słyszalna w refrenie kiedy autor mówi o garści miłości, gdy się starzeje (pogodzenie się), ale jednak wierzy, że bycie z tą jedyną osobą do ostatnich dni, przytulenie, jest ważne (wiara w miłość).

“The Drummer” jest znów frywolną pieśnią życia moim zdaniem, trochę jak otwierający Tippa My Tongue. Perkusista jest tą metaforyczną figurą, która bez większego znaczenia i przejmowania się uderza w elementy perkusji nadając rytm, gdzie wszystko żyje i wlewa optymizm na lepsze dni.

I pojawia się ciemniejszy utwór na płycie o nazwie “Bag Of Grins”. Genialna metafora do koronera z workiem szerokich uśmiechów otwiera nie do ogarnięcia wręcz pole do interpretacji całej piosenki. I znów, na wieloraki sposób można podejść do zrozumienia przekazu, jednak jest to na pewno nawiązanie do naszej mortalności, jak nieważne wszystko stanie się w chwili naszej śmierci, a czasami ślepo do tego wszystkiego dążymy zapominając o tym fakcie. Osobiście do tej pory mój numer jeden na tej płycie.

Emocjonalny “La La La La La La La La”, który położył mnie swoją szczerością i prawdziwością. Tęsknota i pragnienie do bycia z najbardziej ukochaną osobą, która rozumie i pamięta tą prostotę dzielonych chwil jak choćby trywialne “Powiedz mi jakie to uczucie kupić posiłki dla dwóch..”, brylant na tej płycie.

“Copperbelly” osobiście myślę, że jest to wielka metafora tego przysłowiowego węża, który czai się wszędzie w naszych życiach, i żeby nie pozwolić mu wejść i zaburzyć naszego balansu, naszych myśli i emocji.. nie dać mu spać w naszym przysłowiowym łóżku. Piękny, kolejny głęboki utwór z nieziemskim a-melodycznym solo Frusciante, który przestawia biologiczny zegar i percepcję lecz jednocześnie ją regulując, dając tym samym do myślenia.

“Carry Me Home” to opowieść, dość abstrakcyjna, ale o nas wszystkich, jak tracimy poczucie gruntu i tkwimy w czymś, w czym tak naprawdę nie chcemy tkwić.. Kiedis śpiewa w pewnym momencie: “Kopnij te drzwi, których nie rozumiesz..” ..genialnie kontynuując swoją opowieść, a rozdzierające solo Johna i pulsujący bas Flea w każdym utworze jest napędzane niezmordowaną i jak zawsze nieziemsko precyzyjną, ale zarazem fantazyjną perkusją Chad’a.

I ostatni na tym krążku, zaczynający się jak jakaś baśń i wejście do krainy spokoju i trwania “In The Snow” jest bardzo ciekawym jakby wołaniem autora do tej jedynej kobiety, która nie pojawiła się jeszcze w jego życiu mimo wielu lat i mimo wielokrotnego spróbowania smaków w miłości. Czy jest tam (???) ..po prostu wszystko trwa dalej i laboratorium miłości ewoluuje nadal do otrzymania nowych wyników …



.. genialna płyta, jak zawsze ciężka praca jednego z moich wzorców muzycznych na przestrzeni lat. Nie chcę dużo więcej pisać na temat tej płyty, bo uważam, że jest to arcydzieło szczególnie w dzisiejszych czasach, gdzie plastik niestety próbuje zdominować świat i swój pełny poziom wartości ten album osiągnie myślę za kilka lat …

Piękna robota Panowie.. grajcie nam jak najdłużej! Myślę każdy fan się ze mną tutaj zgodzi ;]] Polecam.. słuchać.. interpretować na swój sposób.. chłonąć piękną energię i budować siłę i optymizm wewnątrz siebie …

Deftones "Ohms"

Salute! everyone. Again, quite a long break (more than half a year) in my little space and the world that I love, which is music, and in this case - writing reviews.

Today I will present one of my favorite productions of this century and you can safely risk saying that even millenniums, an album by one of the bands that I still value and which left a huge mark on me both musically and personally in my life, I have never looked back to the world with the same eyes when "Be Quiet And Drive" fell into my ears for the first time..I will never forget this beautiful and positively changing moment in my existence... Okay, so an album with an interesting and deep name "Ohms". The band from Sacramento returned with this powerful album in 2o2o, more than two years ago, and the album is still fresh and - as my best friend said - quote "I think I'll go back to listening to discmen", this album is perfect for any medium: ))

The opening song "Genesis" epically brings the listener back into the very specific and unique world of Deftones, reeking of the extravagance of the vocalist Chino, but at the same time emanating the unanimous genius of these gentlemen who have been consistently developing and nurturing their truly unique style and atmosphere since the first album "Adrenaline", which gave a new a trend in the post-grunge world that was in the early '90s. Chino literally screams and tears him apart in every phrase of the track from the very beginning, the need to rise up like the proverbial Phoenix and stop using the head in a wrong way, and even being processed and controlled by what makes no sense in the natural perception of the environment, i.e. life just . "Ceremony" is an interesting approach to contemporary reality. A very demanding interpretation (as always with Deftones) and, above all, many-sided, everyone can approach the meaning individually. What strikes in the song is the transition to the chorus, where illusion is mentioned as a metaphor for the ways that people have chosen in everyday life. Through our exaggerated cyber life, we've become a bit of a ceremony...but, of what? "Urantia" is clearly an ode to some person who was very important in the author's life, leaving traces and memories that will be forever "To the grave," as Moreno sings at the end of the choruses. The song "Error" is about man's blind pursuit of 'everyday', in which we still encounter these evil snakes, but also this proverbial honey, however, wallowing in this mud of chaos without knowing why we are doing it? There is clearly a reference to a higher power here "Beyond the gates, outside the grid, We follow in your grace, But someday, the clouds will break, And we'll all drift through" "The Spell Of Mathematics" is another call to character/existence.. which poisons the author's life and drives him into the dark recesses of consciousness, but still strives to connect because he believes in love as the only thing that allows us to survive and lead to free space. "Pompeii" is a cry and a question to the higher power, why we forget and are forgotten by time, and we have received this gift of existence. This is also a warning for ourselves, we do not see what is on earth over time ... the cycle of birth, life and rebirth, as well as rebuilding. "This Link Is Dead" is not an easy piece of music to interpret. Clear suffering and even rage at someone who has failed and blinded the other person, which ends up leaving the bad relationship on its own. "Radiant City" is a kind of longing for space, a place where there is uncertainty and some toxicity, yet Chino sings that he would go there again, but in a good way? Another track where the imagination works at high speed. The penultimate "Headless" returns as if to the beginning, to the subject of control and violation of us humans by the 'dealers' in this world, Moreno even speaks metaphorically of entering the brainwaves, that we have come so far and are swimming in a bottomless lake, and our attempts to get out of it are futile, the way we do. The title "Ohms" positively closes the album despite all, with a melody that fills with power and energy, Carpenter's powerful riffs as always, Vega's pulsating bass at times, Cunningham's percussion as always as in a Swiss clock and somewhere in the background hypnotic electronics of Delgado. We are lost and it is too late for radical changes, we are devouring the days ahead and we should shake off this lethargy somehow. A beautiful but chilling manifesto at the end of the album.

The album, described as I felt it in a very short way. Certainly a brilliant position for longer reflections, because Deftones' music always leaves room for your own interpretation and your own answers to questions that arise while listening. One of the best albums that have passed through my ears and I recommend it very much, I come back from time to time, many memories - return to my fiancée ... hey and enjoy!
